How We Can Help

What kind of legal support Do you need?
We can help you survive and thrive your separation in a number of ways.
Some people may prefer to have an experienced family lawyer manage their case from start to end, or they have complex needs and requirements.
Others may have arrived at an agreement and require straight-forward legal advice and drafting to ensure terms agreed upon are legally binding and to their advantage.
People choosing to self-represent may also seek support through legal coaching. Increasingly, people are choosing a hybrid approach of representation at significant court and mediation events with legal coaching in between.
We can discuss with you what approach suits you best and the effects on your case of taking a particular approach.

Is Self-Representing Right For You?
If Not, We Will Represent You
We have different levels of legal support for different people. Some prefer to represent themselves at court and mediation events and seek just advice or coaching behind the scenes.
However, self-representing is not for everyone and you consider whether you will jeapordise your case if you do proceed without legal representation. You may wish to ask the following questions of yourself:
- Do have an ability to pull together voluminous information and documents in an organised fashion and summarise information?
- Can you communicate your story effectively by focusing on what the key issues are and speaking in a professional manner?
- Can you deal with psychological-legal tactics calmly and manage stress while thinking on your feet?
- Can you put aside your emotions to focus on (a: for parenting) what is best for the children and (b: for property) what is fair and just?
- Does your matter exclude any claims about family violence, abuse, risk of harm to a child, or parenting incapacity?
If the answer is NO to any of the above, we are happy to discuss with you how we can best represent you in the most cost effective manner.
